The terms sunrise, sunset, moonrise, and moonset are used to describe astrological phenomena that once were impossible to explain. Even now, the sun appears to “rise” from the distant horizon in the morning and the moon does the same at night. The Sunrise Moonset Collection presents images of such events, and sometimes they occur at the same time or very close together. When conditions are just right, we can be blessed to observe and photograph the morning sun “rising” in the eastern sky while the moon is “setting” in the western sky.
