A native Montanan, Francis Switzer, is a young and rising star in the art world. Already maintaining an impressive number of collectors, his work is being hailed as "masterful and transcendent" in many widely-known art circles. "He can paint anything and paint it well", says impressionistic landscape artist, Troy Collins.
Switzer's appeal has a lot to do with his use of color and his innate ability to mix colors while maintaining realistic and alluring light throughout his paintings. His subject matter ranges from portraits to landscapes and cityscapes - all sharing Switzer's uncanny capacity to capture the charm and beauty of what he's painting. In 2002, while Francis was in high school, he received a Congressional Award for his work that resulted in his paintings being displayed at the U. S. Capitol. He then decided to pursue his art career full time and had the privilege to apprentice under prominent artist, Robert Moore. Living in Idaho and working on his painting, Switzer was able to concentrate on his artwork and developed his unique style of painting. He now lives in Missoula, Montana where he continues to create paintings that delight and inspire collectors throughout the US.
